Where Do I Start?

Good question. The success of your marriage ceremony begins of course with choosing the Marriage Celebrant who most suits your needs. It is vital that you connect and feel comfortable with the person who will solemnize your marriage.

I often advise couples to make contact with other celebrants as well before they make a final choice, as we are all different and provide a wide range of presentation styles.

Legal Requirements

During our initial phone conversation or email enquiry, I will advise you of the legal requirements and if you choose, we can then meet either at your home or mine, or a location convenient to all of us to proceed with the completion of documents for Births, Deaths and Marriages. The Notice of Intended Marriage (NOI) form can be downloaded here. Please remember ... there are no surprise weddings. You must lodge the NOI with your marriage celebrant at least one month and one day prior to your wedding date.

Selection of Ceremonies

When we meet you will receive a wedding folder containing a sample selection of ceremonies and verses that you may like to use or just to give you ideas. You may wish to integrate various paragraphs from the samples given or if you prefer, you can compose your own unique ceremony and this is acceptable providing it complies with the obligations under the Marriage Act 1961. Of course, I am more than happy to work with you on the composition of your wording. Whatever you decide to do, it is important to have a wedding ceremony which reflects your thoughts and aspirations for your future together.

A second meeting is held prior to the wedding day to ensure that you are happy to proceed with your chosen ceremony, to confirm all details, and sign the Declaration document required by law.

On the day of your marriage both you and your witnesses, and other family members you nominate, will be provided with a copy of your wedding ceremony.

Bookings and Equipment

A deposit will be required at the time of booking to secure your wedding date and time. You will receive a letter of confirmation outlining the information discussed.

As well as my P.A. system I can also provide a table, linen tablecloth and chair for the signing of documents at the conclusion of your ceremony.

My Wedding album including a variety of testimonials is available for you to view if you wish.
