Kay's Celebrancy Becoming a Marriage Celebrant has been a most rewarding experience for me. It has enabled me to be part of the community in so many ways. It has given me the opportunity to be involved with an amazing number of people from all walks of life at a time when they are celebrating significant milestones in their life, be it their wedding day, the naming of their child, or reaffirming their marriage vows. Wedding CeremonyA wedding ceremony, when conducted well, should be an intimate, warm affair inclusive of all attending. Your family and friends want the best for you, and so do I. A calm and welcoming atmosphere is so important for everyone involved and the carefully chosen wording of your ceremony cannot be underestimated. When we meet you will be given a selection of four or five ceremonies and verses as a helpful guide to composing your wedding ceremony. You may wish to move sections of one ceremony into another or write your own wedding vows. It is important you ultimately have a ceremony you feel comfortable with and I am more than happy to help you with this. There are however certain legal obligations within the ceremony which must be observed on the day, and this is explained at our initial meeting. Reaffirmation CeremonyA Reaffirmation Ceremony affords an insight into the lives of two people who have weathered the ups and downs of life and wish to honour each other with a special ceremony to reaffirm their devotion to, and love for each other. Taking part as a Marriage Celebrant at a Reaffirmation Ceremony is hugely rewarding. It is a unique opportunity to compose a ceremony which reflects the history of two people, tracing their life path, finding out how they met, humorous stories, often involving their children who are integral within the ceremony. Share your ceremony with lifetime friends, and family members…what better way to celebrate this time in your life be it a formal or informal occasion. Naming CeremonyNaming ceremonies are a delight. Everyone in the family is there, sometimes four generations! Quite often I've presided at 2 or 3 naming ceremonies within the one family over the years, so I almost feel part of the family too! A personally composed ceremony for the child, copies too for family members, and Certificates for the Guardians are all part of the service I provide on this special day. Pretty candles are supplied for the Guardians to light to symbolise their responsibility and commitment to the child should family circumstances change in future years. |
